Villon (1431 – c. 1463) is the most important French poet of the late Middle Ages. Over centuries, his popularity grew and reached the proportions of mythology. Villon, a poet and likely a criminal, who was probably hanged by authorities, intrigues new generations both by his poetry and his life.
