Description
Best know for his "Le grand testament", Villon (1431–1463) is a progenitor of a lasting dynasty of accursed poets like Baudelaire, Rimbaud, or Edgar Allan Poe. At the time of troubadours, whose verses were obsessed with beautiful maidens, Villon wrote about prostitutes and the underbelly of Paris. It seems that he was a part of that milieu, too. His language was crispy and juicy, and his titles explain it all, i.e., Villon's Epitaph or Ballade of the Hanged Men.
