Description
American writer Henry Miller developed a new type of prose, a semi-autobiographical novel. Born in New York, he spent some of his best years in France, rubbed off surrealism, the stream of consciousness, and some other vibrant Paris art scene benefits. Miller was an innovative writer and a free spirit. Inevitably, some of his books were banned at first.
In 1940, he came back to the United States and traveled it for a whole year. He influenced the Beat Generation, especially Jack Kerouac.
